How long do actors have to rehearse before they start shooting for a film?

I have to pretend to be a film director for this school project so i was wondering if 4 months of rehearsing is the average amount of time before they start shooting the scenes...?|||It depends on the director. Some scenes are improvised, some the director gives the script to the actors a few nights before. Usually, Actors are given the screen play, they read it over, and focus on the scenes they're about to do.|||4 months is about right depending on the complexity of the work. With diffrent films, I have diffrent rehearsal times. I would say about 2 months for a complex scene and 1 week-1 month on easier scenes. 4 months would only be if its a HUGE hollywood film that has extremly hard lines.

Hope this helps!!!

~Angela|||It depends how complex the job is and when the movie or play is supposed to be released.|||I think if it is a porn film they just start shooting and see what comes up|||im not too sure.

sorry!
