What's causing the shooting pains from my little toe to my knee?

I play play football 4 times a week and I have suddenly started to get a shooting pain that when I put weight on my foot it sends the shooting pain straight up to my knee. It doesn't hurt to touch it's only when I put weight on it. I don't have the pain while playing football. I don't know what it is. Please help.|||You might have damaged a nerve in your foot, or it might be a bruised ligament, i'd go to a doctor to check.
